Anthropic claims the effort was aimed at using outputs from its models to train competing AI systems, and it says it has taken steps to block and prevent such activity.

Anthropic says groups linked to Russia and China used Claude in cyber espionage campaigns and military weapons projects, including work on missiles, drones, electronic warfare and anti-torpedo systems.
